Regional airline Flybmi goes into administration

 Flybmi has gone into administration and all flights have been cancelled – at the start of February half-term.

 Holidaymakers who have booked tickets have been told to contact their credit or debit card provider or travel insurance to get a refund.

 The airline is based at East Midland Airport but has 17 planes flying 25 routes across Europe.

There are 376 staff employed by the company and last year it carried more than half a million passengers.

 It went into administration on February 16 blaming uncertainty over Brexit and rising fuel costs.

The airline’s main routes were between UK airports like Aberdeen, Bristol, Derry, Stansted and East Midlands – and abroad to France, Germany, Italy and Poland.

 The advice for passengers is to:

 *Contact the credit or debit card provider you used to buy the flights to get a refund.

 *Contact your travel agent or Flybmi’s partner airlines if your booking was made through them.

 *Get in touch with your travel insurance company to see if you are able to claim for cancelled flights.
